This one-of-a-kind blue flatweave Moroccan rug is handwoven by Amazigh women artisans in the village of Taznakht in the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco, a region with a rich textile heritage. The rug's stunning color, derived from the indigo plant, is inspired by the vast sky above the mountains and is meant to bring peace and happiness to its owner, while the intricate geometric patterns, meticulously embroidered by hand, tell stories of community, tradition, and the interconnectedness of life.

  • Pile: Flatweave
  • Colors: Blue, orange, white, green, maroon
  • Material: Live sheep wool and plant-based dyes, including indigo
  • Style: Akhnnif (aka kilim)

Note that we do have one 2'x7' runner in stock, but the other sizes are made-to-order, which can take up to 12 weeks to create, depending on the size and complexity of the design. Once your order is placed, we'll provide a more precise timeline and keep you updated on the progress as your unique rug comes to life.

Due to the handwoven, hand-dyed nature of our rugs, you may notice subtle irregularities that we affectionately call “the charm of the hand.” These unique marks are not flaws, but rather fingerprints of the artisan, adding character and value that sets them worlds apart from their factory-made counterparts.
